A cover instead
of a stock photo.

Fimbria is the demo website of a fictional gynaecology practice in Berlin. Its look follows an editorial reference: the name in huge type across the page, pink colour fields, small typewriter labels, and a glossy 3D model of the inner genital organs where a campaign would put a photograph.

A demo, not a client

Fimbria is not a real practice and has no patients, so we publish no outcome figures for it. Like our other demos, every page carries the bar “Demo-Website von FIB Consulting · fiktive Praxis”, search engines do not index it, and the legal notice names the actual operator, FIB Consulting. The address and phone number are fictional. The name comes from the fimbriae, the fringed ends of the fallopian tubes that take up the egg after ovulation.

Designed like a magazine cover

The reference was an editorial campaign: a heavy grotesque across the whole width, pink fields and a glossy object in front of the title. On Fimbria the object is a model of the uterus with the tubes, their fringed funnels and the ovaries, computed in the browser and swaying slowly in front of the name. The text is set in Bricolage Grotesque, the labels in DM Mono, both under the SIL Open Font License and served from our own server. No serif and no italics in headings, so everything reads easily.

The cycle in 3D

On the 3D page the model has four views. Aufbau: choose a part and it lights up while the rest turns to glass, point at the model and its name appears. Zyklus: the model is cut open from the front; over an example cycle of 28 days the lining of the uterus sheds and grows again, a follicle in the ovary grows, bursts and becomes the corpus luteum, and the egg, shown much larger than it is, is taken up by the fimbriae. The page says plainly that cycles differ and that it calculates no fertile days. Erkrankungen: five common findings on the model, each with sources: fibroids on the outside and, in the cut, in the wall and under the lining; endometriosis seen from behind with a cyst on the ovary; a functional ovarian cyst; a polyp of the lining; many small follicles in PCOS. The page explains, it does not diagnose. Vorsorge: the model turns to the cervix and shows where the smear is taken.

Facts with sources

Screening by age as German statutory insurance pays for it: a smear every year from 20 to 34, the co-test of smear and HPV test every three years from 35, the breast from 30, chlamydia until 25, mammography from 50 to 75 since July 2024. Contraception paid until the 22nd birthday (§ 24a SGB V), the three ultrasound scans in pregnancy, costs in text form before self-pay services (§ 630c BGB). The ovarian ultrasound for cancer screening, rated “negative” by the IGeL-Monitor, is not offered as screening. No superlatives, no promises of results and no symptom checker.

Booking that ends with a ticket

Patients choose the reason, the day and the time, and leave only contact details; the form asks them not to mention complaints, findings or a pregnancy. The confirmation is a holographic ticket in Fimbria's pinks whose stub tears off into a calendar entry with a neutral title. In the demo nothing is sent.

The same standard as the live sites

Fimbria has the same foundation as our other websites: a holiday notice worded like the sign on the practice door, opening hours with a live status and forms without health data. Without a capable graphics chip the pages show still images with the same texts. The site sets no cookies and does no visitor tracking, and the automated accessibility check (axe) finds no errors on the pages.
